This web site called simply...SLEEP DISORDERS, SLEEP APNEA, CPAP MACHINE EDUCATION, CPAP BIPAP MASK EDUCATION is an educational site sponsored by Nor-Cal Diagnostic Sleep Lab and CpapforMedicare.com in an attempt to educate the public about this very important and very underdiagnosed condition called Sleep Disorders.

As the President of Nor-Cal Diagnostic Sleep Lab and a person that has been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea myself, I must say that I have not only laughed ( through my ignorance ) at my own father's symptomatic signs and consequently my own, in later life it has become apparent to me that this condition needs to be better understood. You see my father had a stroke about 5 years prior to his death by heart attack. If we knew then what we know now, we would have taken him to a competent Physician. A Physician knowledgeable in Sleep Disorders, able to diagnose his symptoms and able to send him for a Polysomnagram (Sleep Test). I am confident that had we been educated about the symptoms of sleep disorders back then ( gasping for air, snoring etc while napping on the couch after a round of Saturday golf ) my fathers last years would have been more full and he very possibly could have avoided a stroke before he passed away.

I am therefor dedicating this site to my own father. He was a great man in his own right and in some way caused us to create this site. Through our commitment to this site hopefully you will go away with knowledge and the experience to not only recognize symptoms you may have but also in those you love. I have watched myself sleep on video and yes, sleep disorders can sometimes be funny to watch but can also be deadly serious. So laugh with the ones you love but send them a link to this site and get them to a Physician so they can order a Polysomnogram...it may save their life or yours!
