The predominant therapy currently used for sleep disordered breathing and chosen by most physicians today is a CPAP machine or CPAP ( Continuous Positive Airway Pressure ). This in simple terms is a device that blows air into your nose or mouth...or both in an attempt to prevent your airway from becoming blocked ( a possible symptom of Sleep Apnea ) . Using a CPAP machine and a CPAP mask or CPAP therapy is a very personal and sometimes difficult issue if you are not fitted correctly or you don't educate yourself on what to expect or look for when choosing the right therapy for you. We will discuss this and other therapies in greater detail on this site.
